Small comedy clubs around the world are ground zero for new comedians. They are the places where comedy fans, television producers and even festivals look for the next wave of talent.
NEWS:
May 2012
Well after a long wait we are coming back to the Shannon Hotel. Paddy is gone but the new owners are interested in continuing the comedy night down stair. So starting back on Tuesday the 15th of May Comedy on the EDGE is back.
7 pm (before the show) the New Material Workshop is back.
It is a chance to try out some new Material (3 minutes) and get some feedback from fellow Comics, it is also a chance to meet new people and if you are ultra new a good chance to get used to using a Microphone and Mic stand.
The workshop is free and is open to everybody (from New to Pro), all we ask is that you buy a drink and keep things positive.
The workshop will run at the Shannon every week prior to the show (bookings are not necessary)
We are also continuing on with our other room at the Merton Hotel. So as not to have a conflict we have moved to Wednesday night. Same location, same bistro and Wednesday night is steak night. Show starts at 8:15.
And finally the not so good news. Our experiment with Bondi is over, we gave it a red hot go but it turns out that the eastern suburbs crowd weren’t up for comedy, maybe it wasn’t retro enough. We had a good run there, but we have gone our separate ways with the North Bondi RSL. We learned a lot and watch this space for maybe another more appropriate room in the area.
PS Comics looking to perform send thru a message all welcome! Even the Alternative one’s!
